DryDock Models is now celebrating 5 years serving the TallShip Model Building in Wood and Wood Kits Community. Building TallShip Models is one of the world's oldest Hobbies shared by people from all corners of the world. You will find the best of these people on DryDock Models, people both eager to learn and eager to share their experiences to make better Model Builders of everyone, while enhancing the enjoyment these detailed and time consuming projects provide. Everyone, Novice to Seasoned is welcome. Even folks with just a passing interest will be amazed to see how some of the most beautiful TallShip Models are made.
There are a great many TallShip kits in the market today that range from beginner to advanced, but even with beginners models, this is not an easy Hobby starting fresh, and there is little resemblance to plastic ship models, so past modeling in plastic won't be as much help as you might think. Many just getting started will either never finish their first model, or never build a second and for many reasons that rarely include just not being able to do this kind or Model Building. This was the core reason for building our Main Forum, to give many just getting started their best chance of enjoying this hobby for life. While there is a long list of reasons that can be blamed for failing on the first model, the one sure fire reason and most common is not having anyone to turn to for help. Even though there are allot of people enjoying this Hobby, few of the people in our lives share this interest. And despite the many books and magazines about this hobby, they seldom have the exact answers to the one problem you may have right now. If you can't find that answer already in the Main Forum, your sure to get a fast answer to your question from the active Members of the Main Forum.
In our Forums you'll find the combined experiences in questions and answers of hundreds of model builders of every skill level from first kit to Seasoned, even Scratch Model Building. DryDock Models currently supports two separate Forums today. The Main Forum is open for all discussions on every possible TallShip Model Building topic while the second Forum, The Dock Yard, is a mostly read only Forum where active Members chronicle their current on going projects. Between these two Forums there is a wealth of shared knowledge that is available to every Registered Member. So if you need help, you've found it. If your a Seasoned Model Builder who wants to share and enjoys helping others, your experience and your secrets to Building top grade TallShip Models are always welcome.

DryDock Models is not affiliated with any commercially related organizations or companies and you will not find popup ads anywhere on the entire page or banner ads anywhere accept our Links section, and then they must be related to this Hobby.
