DryDock Models is currently a privately & Member funded Not for Profit Web Site. It's goal is to provide a diverse resource to support TallShips in Wood and Wood kits Model Builders. Our True Specialty is in giving Novice Builders as much help and advice as possible in the hope of giving them the confidence to become seasoned and skilled Model Builders in less time then they could achieve on their own. We also have something for Modelers of all Skill Levels as the learning should never stop no matter how many Models we have made. While there are many books on this great hobby DryDock Models has become living Book built from a Global community of people from many nations and cultures eager to learn and share all they can to create finely detailed TallShip Models that will last for generations. Each Member, regardless of experience level, is all important to the life of this book with their questions and answers the building blocks that make up the Main Forum and our newest Forum, The Dock Yard Where Members Chronicle thier Model Projects for all to watch and Learn. For the first time now new Model Ship Builders from around the World have a place to come for near real time help and the more Seasoned Builders have a place to share their knowledge and experience. Even show off their best works in our Gallery.
Membership is not completely free though. If you wish to be a Member the price is an investment of your time and experience, or need of experience, to benefit others who enjoy this Hobby, Posting photos of your Wood TallShip Models (Completed or in construction.) for the Gallery, or donations to help support the costs of maintaining this web page. With any one of these donations you'll have helped to shape and develop DryDock Models and insure it's continued success.
DryDock Models will always be Free from advertisements without exception, and Free from the influences of the commercial side of this Hobby. This web site exists only for the Model Maker and so each Member is free to say what ever needs to be said, positive or negative about any of the many products we use during the course of a project.
